Pre-titan technical setup.
* Download and setup Google Chrome (it refreshes faster than Firefox).
* Set up an auto-reload feature. Quickest way is to set up a bookmark as explained here:
http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Chrome/thread?tid=1a37ccbdde5902fd&hl=en * Practice getting set up for a titan: Open a hunting window and an auto-reloading map window. Set it up so you can see both at once, and not have to chance window selection. Depending on your re-load speed, set the refresh rate at 1 second.
Pre-titan FS setup.
* Make sure you have a good setup for the titan. For titans around your level, this usually means getting just enough attack and defense (which can be challenging) and then putting every spare drop into damage. If you can afford it, save as a combat set for ease of wearing.
* Have all the potions you want ahead of time. Wither350's and Constitution 250's are really good for a titan that's hard for you, but they sometimes take some time to get, so find good deals ahead of time.
Actual hunt.
* Coordinate with your guildmates. If we have a ton of players on a hunt, it's much more efficient to play a zone defense. In fact, I've gotten 300 kills on very competitive hunts where I covered basically a circle of radius 2-3 squares without leaving it.
* Learn to multi-click. Getting there first doesn't help much if you only get one kill out of it each time.
* Get a feel for your range -- if you have a slow connection, don't waste stam going for a titan 10 steps away. It'll almost certainly be gone by the time you get there.
* Choose a nice square in your area. If you stand against a wall, that's three less spots the titan could spawn on for which you're only 1-step away. So being surrounded by 8 empty squares is preferrable. Same goes for being one away from a wall, etc.
* Move diagonally whenever possible. Same stam usage, but less page loads. Miller seems to think it even loads faster on a diagonal move.
* Try to predict your competitor's actions. If you know everyone just left a sweet standing spot to chase down a titan a few steps away, you might take a couple of steps in that direction, figuring they'll be out of place if the very next spawn is where they used to be standing.
* If the titan appears to disappear for a while, it's because it spawned on a map landmark (an exit, a quest, etc.). If there are any near you, go take a look and see if the titan's hiding there.
